Concrete Services is the Foundation for all Other Construction Projects
Even though he mainstay of our business is our concrete pouring, in both interior and exterior spaces, we have a wide range of treatments and concrete finishes and are always happy to discuss options. Our team of experts can provide you with options and solutions to any concrete project.
Around pools
Concrete pool surrounds need to be two things, primarily – hard-wearing and slip-proof. Your pool surround will receive a lot of wear and tear, both from the seasons and from regular use. We want to create a pool surround that you can enjoy every day.
We have a range of finishes, textures, colors, and slip-proof treatments, to ensure your pool is the envy of your neighborhood. We’re experienced working in awkward spaces, and there’s no pool shape we haven’t surrounded in pristine, hard-wearing concrete.
Choose freshly poured concrete, precast concrete pavers with slip-resistant patterning, or a combination of both. We’ll custom-mix and color your concrete too. All our pool surrounds include landscaping and tidying the site to leave it as pristine as we found it.
Apartment slabs
Whether indoors, in conservatories, or in exterior spaces, we have a host of designer slabs to quickly lay a perfectly level and attractive surface.
From perpendicular paving to crazy paving, we’ll work with you to design a perfect plan, and help you select materials that match your color scheme and design choices. There’s a huge range of slab types to choose from in size, material, color, texture, and finish. We’ll navigate all that variety, so you make the perfect selection.
Popular choices include:
- Flat or Beamless slabs: Strong, structural elements which can be laid in the absence of supporting beams.
- Waffle or Grid Slabs: Lightweight but load bearing, these work well for both entranceways and floors and can be used as mounts for recessed lighting in walls and ceilings.
- Hollow Core Ribbed Slabs: A lightweight, sustainable choice, hollow slabs have conduits inside which can be used to carry narrow pipes or cables.
Slabs can be poured as single, shaped pieces, or precast and laid in grid structures, depending on your circumstances and aesthetic preference. Our expert slab engineers can cut and finish slabs, laying them in precise grids, even in awkwardly shaped spaces.
We can create a range of finishes, from a textured industrial surface to a non-slip treatment for wet rooms, to the most exquisite polish, which can even resemble a fine marble with a range of fine chip inclusions.
Apartment patios
Apartment buildings experience a lot of foot traffic, yet must present a welcoming, attractive exterior. This makes the patio spaces in front of, or around apartment complexes, one of the most challenging places to pour concrete.
However, at A+ we love a challenge. We enjoy creating high-end, weather and stain-resistant patios that are easy to maintain and keep clean. Whether it’s in a high-footfall urban setting, or a quiet suburban neighborhood, we’ll work with you to create the perfect welcome for your residents.
Choose from a range of mixes, textures, and finishes. We’ll work within the space and timeframe available.
Large courtyard pours
When the scale is a factor, it’s important to work fast, and efficiently. Fortunately, our team of concrete engineers has expertise in high-volume, high-quality pours. We’ll schedule your pour to cause the minimum disruption and deliver the perfect finish.
Choose from a range of low-cost, or high-end finishes, suitable for every environment from a family backyard to the forecourt of a luxury car showroom. We have materials designed to be stain, heat, oil, and fire resistant, and epoxy or polyurea coatings to give you the perfect finish.

Concrete fixing and lifting
We don’t just lay or pour concrete floors; we renew or replace them too. Perhaps your existing flooring needs a pressure wash, a polish, or just a bit of TLC. We can repair holes and cracks and resurface distressed concrete. We’re here for those challenges too.
A+ Concrete engineers can also completely lift existing concrete, level the ground beneath, and lay a new floor on top. We’ll give you a time estimate and plan around your schedule, to minimize disruption.
Of course, we’ll also finish it to your precise specification and tidy the site, leaving it in a better condition than we found it.
Concrete slurry coating
Avoid dampness and mold with slurry coating. This is a method of waterproofing concrete and masonry by applying a mixture of cement, chemicals, and aggregate. This creates a creamy, spreadable, plaster-like substance that forms a waterproof seal.
Slurry is often used outdoors to create an impenetrable layer through which water can’t seep, and weeds can’t grow (provided it remains intact). We’re experts at using this as a smooth, level undersurface for decorative concrete, or precast slabs.
Cement-based slurry is designed to be fast-drying and low-cost, ideal for large-scale projects like road undercoating or parking lot preparation. It can also be used to damp-proof basements. Talk to us today about this convenient and protective covering.
Concrete stamping
Concrete stamping is a method of imparting texture to concrete to make it resemble a type of stone or give it a decorative patterning. You can even mockup a tiled floor by imprinting a grid onto still-wet concrete.
Types of surfaces that stamped concrete can imitate include slate, tiles, brick, flagstones, cobbles, or even woodgrain. It can produce an excellent finish for paths, gardens, kitchens, and patios. It’s not a new technique either, dating back to the ancient Romans (as does concrete itself).
When creating a tiled effect, the concrete is poured and then colored as desired. Stamp frames are then placed over the still-drying concrete and then pushed gently into the surface and removed to leave the intended pattern.
Decorative concrete/color options
Concrete no longer needs to be grey and dull. We’ve laid concrete in bright primaries and soft pastels. Even fluorescent colors can be applied (good for sports hall markings). Texture can be applied with stamps or created with pre-cast flagstones.
The pigment can be mixed fully into the concrete for a solid color effect. Alternatively, it can be brushed onto the surface for a more naturalistic and variable stone finish (ideal for creating faux tiles or flagstones).
This is where real artistry meets engineering, and it’s one of our favorite techniques. Popular mixes include pink, buff, ash grey, pale blue, and turquoise. We can create bright colors for marking out reserved parking, or include an aggregate mix to create a randomized stone feel.
A clear finish can be applied, or a strong protective covering and we can also polish concrete to a pristine sheen, which is great for chipped aggregate mixes. When it comes to textures and colors, you’re only limited by your imagination, so talk to us today.
